Hey all. It looks like I'm going to take a month off.
Poor health, and a dying dog, and too much work stress have done me in.

I'm back! This is a short show, to get me back on track after surgery, and
too much life in general.

If you are wondering where the heck I am, due to some unexpected
surgery, I'm busy healing at this time.

It looks like I'll end up taking a month off from the show, while I
recover and get back on my feet (literally - it was foot surgery.)

Show #63 -05/13/2008- Dan L. Interview

This turned out to be a very different show. I interview Dan L.,
age 62, a free thinker from Texas. He was a career military man, and
I was interested to hear about life from him, as I have little contact
with that world.

He was unsurprisingly quite the realist, but did surprise me with the
depth to which he believed in empowering people and elevating humanity.

There is a lot of talk of politics, which I try to avoid, but it tied in so much
with the views of how governments should use the military, so I left it all in.
Take it as another world view, whether you agree with it or not!

We got into depression, alcoholism, and coming out of all that into a more

Hey all! My new format isn't working.
I asked for emal answers (or recorded sound - .mp3 files)
as answers to the question I posed in the last show -
"What is the Universe".

Sadly I have only received 2 email answers so far, and the
deadline was yesterday. I don't have enough material to do the
next show.

I'm changing the deadline to October 13th, in the hopes that I get more.

He is a Vegan, male prostitute from Minnesota. A monophobic who
loves philosophy and people. (Oh yeah, and sex).

It is a charming, irrepressible, and slightly nilistic combination. What fun it was to talk with him!

I'm exploring the possibility of changing the show. I just passed my 2 year
anniversary of the podcast, and am rapidly losing audience for the last 2 shows. I suspect you might be getting a little bored?

One idea is to ask one "big question" each show, and ask for listeners
to send in .mp3's or email with their answers. Of course that would depend
on you all getting involved. What do you think?

This is a special show - and Skype interview to Lynoure, Age 30, Linux Geek from Finland!! She and I overcame many technical problems for 2 hours, just to get the Skype connection that allowed us to do the interview. But she stayed with me, and the results are worthi it!

Lynoure is a darling, and we talked not only about the big questions, but got a Finnish cultural perspective on many things, and we ended with a discussion on solipsism ( a theory holding that the self can know nothing but its own modifications and that the self is the only existent thing), and overcomming depression. Hey all! The hosting service was down on and off much of this last week. The poor "Alex Interview" has about half the downloads of usual. As it is an exceptional show, I am going to leave it up for another week. I will post the Lyndon Interview next Saturday. Please, listen to the Alex show! It is worth hearing! I am considering going to an every 2 week posting schedule, anyways. The weekly is grueling, It takes about 15 hours to get you a show every week, and interview volunteers are getting harder to come by. I've used up all the people I know who will do it, and now I'm totally dependent on listeners stepping up, or forcing their friends into it.
